‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’ tells the story of Ashokan, a middle-aged man who does not look like he stepped right off a movie poster, as he experiences major FOMO because of all his friends getting married and settling into a life of blessed domesticity. ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’, directed by Shamsu Zayba and produced by Dulquer Salmaan, is a feel-good movie designed to give hope to every man out there that they will find their dream woman someday, regardless of their flaws, and boy will she be perfect. Starring Dulquer Salmaan, Karthika, Priyanka Nair. ‘Comrade in America’ is pleasant and entertaining enough to watch though, all things considered. Amal Neerad also misses out on making a bold statement on some very sensitive and extremely relevant subject matter and prefers to make tasteless jokes about men getting raped instead. But the movie loses its footing slightly in execution, getting a bit “draggy” towards the end. The actors have all done a good job and the plot is interesting enough as well. The film’s protagonist is Aji, a young communist, who falls in love with an NRI girl and travels to the US (entering illegally through Mexico) to stop her from getting married to some other guy her parents have picked. The expectations for ‘Kaduva’ are really high as it’s termed as a royal comeback for the director Shaji Kailas who has previously done hit movies like ‘Natturajavu’, ‘Narasimham’, ‘Valliyettan’ etc.At first glance, Amal Neerad’s ‘CIA’ seems like another one in the long line of communist-themed films that have flooded the Malayalam cinema recently. Kaduva is backed by Supriya Menon under Prithviraj Productions in association with Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames. Shameer Muhammed is editing it, and Jakes Bejoy is in charge of the music. Jinu Abraham, who has earlier directed Prithviraj Sukumaran in ‘Adam Joan’ is the scriptwriter of ‘Kaduva’ which has Abhinandan Ramanujam and Sujith Vaassudev as the directors of photography. Actors Arjun Ashokan, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Seema, Dileesh Pothan, Vijayaraghavan, Aju Varghese, Sudev Nair, Rahul Madhav, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and Priyanka Nair are also part of the cast. The teaser also gives a glimpse of the action sequences from the film that also stars Vivek Oberoi as an antagonist. The movie's teaser was released recently and it gave a glimpse of Prithviraj's character Kaduvakkunel Kuruvachan, who looks intense in his mass avatar. With this, the court granted a temporary stay for the film until further hearing on the 14th of this month. He also stated that the acts in the film would be defaming him as they were contrary to his life. He then approached the court and stated in his plea that the film was nothing but his own tale and that he was portrayed as a villain more than a hero. Later, when reports surfaced that a film titled 'Kaduva' was coming up with Prithviraj in the lead role, the petitioner found that the film was based on his life. It was also finalized that the film will be titled 'Vyakhram' and the lead character would not be portrayed as taking the law into his hands. During the discussion petitioner had clearly stated that the screenplay should be written by Renji Panicker and the lead role should be played either by Mohanlal or Suresh Gopi. The petitioner, who has a rich ancestry, was earlier approached by the director to make a film about his long-running feud with a yesteryear top police official. On Friday, much to the disappointment of fans, a Kerala court has announced a stay on the release of the movie. As the superhit director is making his comeback to the film industry, the audience has pinned high hopes on the movie, which is slated for release next month. Prithviraj starrer action entertainer 'Kaduva' helmed by veteran director Shaji Kailas is one of the most anticipated movies of Mollywood.
